a rare treat

so yesterday i was walking along 6th ave in midtown manhattan

when i passed by here-http://www.icp.org/

in the window display was

a gift box of disposable placemats with photos of diner meals on them

JACKPOT!!!!

i had to go in and check this out.

i couldn't afford the admission fee or the time to see the exhibit-

so i stepped into their lovely bookstore!

first i found the placemats with pictures like this on them...

breathtakingly great. i love this stuff.

things i like to take pictures of include:

roads

meat on the grill

random chairs

dog toys as if they are posing for a portrait

any kind of meal

tchotkes

my feet in shoes.

who was this genius taking these photographs????

just when i thought it couldn't get any better...they were from the 70's!

oh yeah! dig it!

i am no hippy

-though i tried it out in college for awhile-

but as a 70's baby i have a great great fondness for

green shag carpeting

fake grainy wood

wallpaper that makes you feel as if you are

in the middle of a fall forrest

or sitting by a running brook

i also love a great classic rock song

don't get me wrong-i don't want any of that crap decorating my home.

though i do love me some freedom rock.

i just love the life photos from this time give off.

that sort of brown-natural-hazy goodness

photo's from the 70's seem to share.

i can't get enough of it!!

well i was in luck! they had books and books filled with his photographs!

ok. so i know it has been a long long time....

BUT

i've been busy and haven't had much to say....

and then the time just kept passing

and i still didn't have anything to say

and then people started removing me from their blog lists

which freaked me out more!

BUT

that is all in the past.

and i am back!

i am going to share with you my upcoming summer adventures.

the first one is.......

i get to go work on her play

at his summer camp

HERE!!!!

that's right!!! i am going to sundance!!!!! theater lab that is!

i get to stay in a cabin for 3 weeks while i work on a play.

they are flying me out, feeding me and paying me!

holy shit crackers!!!!

i am excited and honored and nervous and excited and and and.....

i only went to summer camp once as a kid.

my best friend rebekah warren invited me.

it was a bible camp sponsored by her church.

camp sambica.

it was really fun and dramatic.

we sang songs about jesus. drew pictures of jesus and hell.

a girl in our cabin claimed she was possessed by the devil.

she was writhing around our cabin floor "speaking in tongues"

the counselors performed an exorcism.

it wasn't real. she was a big faker!

but it was super cool to watch.

we also smoked cigarettes in the woods

and

in between cigarettes-made out with boys.

i really fell for jesus that summer.

i wonder what this camp will be like.

i know my circumstances are a bit different...

i quit smoking

and

i have my own boyfriend-the silver fox

we can make out wherever and whenever i want

and

i wonder if jesus will be there?

i'll keep you posted!

gone swimming

it has been AWHILE since i have posted anything.
the reasons:
1. its summer time and i have had the awesome fortune of
going up to the catskills on the weekends! yahoo!
this is the place of amazing beauty and...
AND this is where the movie Dirty Dancing was filmed.
it reminds me of my hometown of seattle.
well, it reminds me of washington state actually.
which in the summertime is the best place in the world.


2. i got lazy

3. didn't really have anything to report.

BUT then i got this email from a stranger out in the web of the world asking for a comeback! whoever you are. ........
